Sale Policies

Our Philosophy

At Vann Goats, we strive to match every animal with the right home. We would love to speak with you about your goals and desires to decide on animals best fit for your herd. Transparency is important to us and we will give advice based on the strengths and weaknesses of our goats.

By placing a deposit or completing a purchase, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to all terms in this Sales Policy. This policy protects our goats, our buyers, and the integrity of our breeding program.

Deposits & Payment Terms

A non-refundable deposit of %50 of the total purchase price is required to hold any animal. No animal will be held, reserved, or removed from the availability list without a deposit.

Horned Kids: If a buyer requests that a kid be left horned and not disbudded, the full purchase price must be paid at the time of deposit. No exceptions will be made to this policy.

The remaining balance is due in full at time of pickup. Animals will not be released without payment in full. We do not offer payment plans.

Pricing

All animals sold by Vann Goats are ADGA registered or registerable unless otherwise disclosed in writing at time of sale.

Prices are set at the time of deposit and will not change after a deposit is placed.

ADGA Registration & Transfer

All animals sold as registered are enrolled with the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA). The following applies to all registrations:

Health Guarantee & Vet Checks

All animals leave Vann Goats in good health to the best of our knowledge. Prior to sale, each animal has been:

Vann Goats offers a 48-hour health guarantee from the time of pickup or delivery. If your animal becomes ill within this window:

  1. Contact us immediately.
  2. A licensed veterinarian examination is required. All vet costs are the buyer's responsibility.
  3. Written documentation from the veterinarian must be submitted to Vann Goats.
  4. If a pre-existing condition is confirmed that could not reasonably have been detected at the time of sale, we will work toward a fair resolution — which may include a partial credit, replacement animal, or refund at our sole discretion.

The health guarantee does not cover illness or injury caused by transport stress, improper husbandry, nutritional deficiency, failure to quarantine, or exposure to disease at the buyer's property.

All new animals must be quarantined from your existing herd for a minimum of 30 days.

Failure to quarantine voids the health guarantee entirely. This is standard practice recommended by all major goat health organizations.

Congenital Defect Guarantee

Vann Goats offers a 2-year congenital defect guarantee from the date of sale on all registered animals only. Pet/companion quality animals do not carry a congenital defect guarantee.

Covered congenital defects for registered animals include:

If a licensed veterinarian diagnoses one of the above conditions within 2 years of purchase, and that defect was not disclosed at time of sale, Vann Goats will offer a replacement animal of the same gender and comparable value upon receipt of a written veterinary diagnosis and clear photographic documentation of the defect. Refunds are not offered under this guarantee.

Congenital Myotonia (CM) Status

No animal sold by Vann Goats will be CM/CM status. We are happy to inform buyers whether a specific pairing is guaranteed to produce N/N offspring or whether N/CM offspring are possible. For pairings where N/CM results are possible, genetic testing is available at the buyer's request and expense prior to or after purchase.

Pickup & Shipping

Farm Visits: All visits are by appointment only. As a biosecurity measure, we ask that you have not visited another farm or livestock facility within 24 hours of your visit. Please wear clean footwear.

Pickup Deadlines

Shipping: Vann Goats does not ship animals via commercial carriers. Ground transport through a reputable third-party livestock transport service may be arranged at the buyer's expense. Once an animal leaves our property, Vann Goats is not responsible for its welfare during transit. Veterinary CVI is available at the buyer’s request and expense (required if shipping).

Buyer Requirements & Herd Standards

We care deeply about where our animals land. All buyers must agree to the following as a condition of purchase:

Vann Goats reserves the right to refuse a sale to any individual at any time for any reason.

Agreement

By placing a deposit or completing a purchase from Vann Goats, the buyer acknowledges they have read this Sales Policy in full and agree to all terms herein. All agreements are in writing. This policy supersedes any verbal understandings.

All sales are final once an animal leaves our property in good health and all terms have been fulfilled.
